The website has been out of action for a while......not sure what was going on , conspiracy theories etc but Mr Steve Hooker arrived on his white charger and now everything is fine n dandy again ! Hurrah!
We have missed lots of news since New Year but rather than go back over old ground lets just start from this week......
A Led Zeppelin fan has paid £83,000 for two tickets to the rock band's reunion concert, as part of an auction for the BBC's Children in Need.
BBC Radio 2 listener Kenneth Donnell, from Glasgow, paid to see the band rehearse and perform on 10 December.
It would be fantastic to be able to spend that sort of money on charity as well as see the most awesome rock band of all time...oh to have money.
A big thankyou to all parents who attended our Parent Consultation days. We appreciate your support and so do your children!
Salisbury School has lots of problems with its old building but for once the hole in nursey was intentional!
Nursey's kitchen has been given a make over and 2 window like hatches built in so that it is a lighter room and also staff can keep an eye on the wee ones while they are playing. (our new caretaker is ace!)
Hello, my name is Whomayra Begum and I am the Parent Support Advisor. I am happy to see all the children back after the holidays. I am here with the intention to support you. I hope I can answer any questions you may have about my role as a PSA and various concerns that you might have. A PSA is someone who maintains a link between the home of a child and the school. Salisbury has a friendship with a Shropshire School, Springfield Infant School.
Mrs Wheeler is the headteacher there!
Year 2 children are currently emailing each other. Springfield pupils are interested in finding out about the Muslim Faith and we are finding out interesting facts about the Shropshire pupils.
Let's hope we can get to know each other really well and eventually meet.
Thankyou for our Eid Cards!
Today Salisbury children had the lovely experience of seeing seven birds of prey. These included a selection of owls, hawks and falcons native to this country and other parts of the world. Selected pupils ( and teachers who wanted to) handled the birds using a special glove. They were so beautiful . It was a very rare experience. This is a great picture of a Falcon drawn by Piotre .
Year 1 & 2 have enjoyed a great first day with theatre company , Round Midnight.
Introductions were made , activities for the next 4 weeks were discussed and we still had time for a bit of drama and a few games!
Emmi, Stuart and Pete are great! soooo enthusiastic.
We are all looking forward to working with them .
Canada, what an amazing country, the scenery is spectacular!
Here are just a few photographs of many that I took on my holiday there.
I have just come back from a fab holiday in Florida. What an amazing place ( I have been a few times before but I would never get bored of it) Ok it doesnt have much culture (though I did visit the Dali Museum ) but its packed with fun ...fun...fun.
We managed to visit most of the parks while we were there.I had my pic taken with Shrek and donkey!!! The best parts of the holiday involved real animals , here are some pics of the animals I met.
The staff also had a role play day.... Mr Wheeler as the Demon Headmaster (wot! thats not role play you cry, heheheh)
Can you guess these other characters?........

CLIC and Sargent Cancer Care for Children merged in January 2005 to become the UK's leading children's cancer charity. Both have a rich history of excellent care and support. Together, CLIC Sargent is both stronger and more effective providing more for more children and young people with cancer and their families CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity, wants to see a world where all children and young people with cancer live life to the full. For children with cancer and their families, CLIC Sargent fund care professionals who deliver clinical and emotional care and support. We offer support to families who are in need of financial help, as cancer can carry a financial burden, with additional travel expenses and un-paid leave from work.
CLIC Sargent also provides a free support service to teenagers, empowering them to cope and understand what they are going through, during treatment and after.
We run Homes from Home close to paediatric oncology centres around the UK allowing families to stay together during periods of treatment giving them much needed breaks from the hospital environment.
CLIC Sargent funded research aimed at improving treatment and care.
CLIC Sargent will be there for each family caring every step of the way.

The Roald Dahl Foundation
Reg Charity No: 1004230
www.roalddahlfoundation.org
Roald Dahl was the honorary chairman of Readathon from 1988 until his death in November 1990. In 1991 his widow, Felicity, started a foundation in his name; the Roald Dahl Foundation’s grants aim to help children and their families in a very direct way, so it seemed natural for Readathon to help support it.
Readathon money is used by the Roald Dahl Foundation primarily to help children and young people suffering from blood disorders, epilepsy and the after effects of acquired brain injury.
Typical recent grants and projects include:
• New Roald Dahl Epilepsy nurse specialists in Portsmouth, Bolton and Gwent.
• A family support worker for children with an acquired brain injury in Northern Ireland, and their families.
• Books in Braille, on tape, on CD and touch and feel books for children with a visual impairment.
• Nursing care in their own homes for children with life-limiting neurological conditions
• Small grants to children with a blood or neurological condition where extra financial help is needed, for travel to hospital, clothing or bedding, telephone bills and for sensory equipment and specialist toys.
Hartlepool is in the North East of England and is a coastal town. I spent a lot of my younger years on the beach and miss it terribly(the beach not Hartlepool)
I've photographed some of the well known landmarks of the area, well
you have to with a nooo camera, don't you?
The tanker photograph shows the ghost ships that contained toxic
waste, they have been moored at Hartlepool to be
dismantled, Greenpeace and of course Hartlepool residents have been
campaining to get them removed! It is so eerie to see
them, even though I was quite a distance away because of
heavy security!
The Nuclear Powerstation used to frighten me as a child! The huge
transporter helped us to get from Hartlepool to Middlesborough,
swinging across the River
Tees.
Georg loves visiting our friends and family up North but
particularly loves Poppy, my sisters
dog!
Just enough time for a laze in the ball pool as doting grandparents (and great grandparents ) watch! They are both in their 80's and are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary (60 years together) this year! Congratulations you will be chuffed to be on the web,
Hartlepuddlians built to last!
S & P Theatre Productions came into school and showed us their production called "What the Dickens"
It took us back to Dickensian time and showed us how Charles Dickens wrote some of his famous works as well as snippets of his books that hopefully will want the children to find and read more...
The acting was fantastic, some of the audience were moved to tears.
We are planning to have them back for other shows in their repertoire.
Next task is to find out where in the school this photograph was taken! You have to reply by clicking on the grey comments word underneath this message.
Approaching me in the corridor is'nt enough.
Good luck.
Well she has been looking at our website with her pupils....is'nt that cool! She even said, do your ears hang low.........( I owe her a choc bar, though she probably owes me one cause she used to eat all my food when she lived with me!)
Lets hope we can make some links with her school(Mr Wheeler can I have a free holiday, I fancy doing some more diving, hehehehe)
Your ideas have to be based on a favourite book, character or author.
Look at the details inside your latest School Link magazine.
You could win money for the school to spend on books.
Have a go.......if you need any advice ask Ms Plews.
