Unit 4 were very impressed with the Rangoli patterns at the Temple today. Here are some of the amazing pieces of art. They are made from sugar, rice, flour and kidney beans to name but a few things.

Telford Town Park

Year 1 and 2 had a fun day yesterday at Telford Town Park.

We met up with Mrs Wheelers school Springfield infants from Shropshire.

We introduced ourselves and began a day of football matches, parachute play, swings/slides, sand and making new friends.

We plan to email each other soon and hopefully meet up again in September.

Cannock Chase

Unit 3 had a pleasant day at Cannock Chase last week.

The children enjoyed making large scale pictures with twigs and leaves , pictures like squirrels and deer.

After a picnic we all went on the sculpture trail and found lots of interesting works of art.

Our trip to Blists  Hill was a fabulous experience for the whole of unit 5. I'm sure that everybody enjoyed it. We explored the whole of the victorian town and found victorian life very interesting because there was lots of excitement including the gruesome  punishments that they had. There was a grocers, bakers(with lovely bread),printers shop, locksmith and many more exciting buildings. So I can assure you that that when you get to Unit 5 , that is one thing to look forward to (apart fom SATs and lots of work!) .

Unit 3's trip to the Seaside
We had prayed for weeks for good weather ! The day of our trip had arrived and wow! what a scorcher!

We arrived at Formby at 10.30 and walked over the sand dunes to the beach(carrying lots of stuff!) Everyone was relieved to see the water, aahhhh cool those feet......whose feet are they?

form3.JPG

For a lot of the children it was the first time they had been on a beach, it was sooo great to see them having fun!

form2.JPG   form4.JPG

The water was full of jellyfish which was horrible for the jellyfish because they were dead but it was good for us , we could paddle without getting stung.

We had a lovely time playing in the sand, followed by a picnic , an icecream and a woodland walk.  An enjoyable day..........

Teddies Day out at Cannock Chase!
Year 1 and 2 had a great day at Cannock Chase

We all took our teddy's with us and while we were learning about the animals that live in the forest our teddy's were kidnapped!!! shock horror....plus our lunchboxes , even more shock and horror!

We had to go on a clue finding trail to get them back and in the process we learned a lot of things about the forest.

teddy.JPG

We found lots of interesting things on the forest floor and spied a squirrels drey in the tree tops.

When we managed to find all the clues and solve the mystery we all settled down to eat our picnic with our teddy's ahhhh what a relief!

picnic.JPG

After lunch we had a great time on the adventure playground , climbing, swinging and balancing.

climbing frame.JPG

Later on we looked for minibeasts under logs and leaves, we found slugs, snails, spiders, worms and centipedes, it was great looking at them under a magnifying glass.

letita.JPG

Last of all we made shelters for our teddy's , they looked really at home in the trees!

We can't wait to go again!
